Letting the sunshine in.

How does an institution preserve tradition and respect the environment while attracting 21st century learners? Salisbury University turn to G+P to renovate Manokin, Wicomico, St. Martin and Pocomoke Halls by incorporating light, bright spaces, improving sightlines, and enhancing the flow and functionality of the common areas.

The amenity spaces were opened, allowing natural light to flow through the inviting double-height lounges and popular study zones.

The renovations respected the traditional Georgian-style architecture and features, adding vestibules to make the dorms more accessible, creating bright entry lobbies that opened up to the space, and simplified wayfinding. The dorm rooms were renovation to make them brighter and attractive to contemporary students. Additional dorm rooms were placed in the finished attics.
