Bright Minds and Green Futures.

The new Snowden Farm Elementary School is a neighborhood hub located in the heart of the growing Clarksburg community. The school was named after the local Snowden family who settled in the area and founded a dairy farm in 1845. It is the fifth version of this prototype designed within the Montgomery County Public Schools’ master plan.

The building features a variety of instructional spaces including an outdoor courtyard based on the local watershed and nearby Sugarloaf Mountain, a media center with a self-checkout for books, and the very first makerspace in any of MCPS’s elementary schools. All of the light-filled, colorful classrooms include a Boxlight interactive panel, which, combined with individual Chromebooks, gives students the opportunity to learn through one-to-one technology.
