Plan for the future.

Helping Bishop McNamara High School discover possibilities for growth and modernization on its existing campus, G+P designed a master plan that retains the best of the school’s legacy while creating a compelling vision for a vibrant future. The faith-based school, located in a commercial and residential neighborhood, needed a vision for its campus that prepares its motivated, self-directed student body for careers and lives well past their time in high school.

The master planning process began with stakeholder visions sessions, where G+P identified key goals and outcomes that the master plan should strive for.

The resulting master plan includes an innovative STEM wing, a student courtyard with walking gardens, a 21st Century amphitheater and student commons supported by educational technology, and a “living science lab.”

The La Reine Science Center, the first phase of the master plan, includes space for independent and project-based learning and modern laboratories, all within a collegiate atmosphere. The building’s prominent location on campus, along with its outdoor classrooms and courtyard, provides a central place for student to study and gather. The outdoor classrooms also serve as teaching tools for environmental stewardship. The facility promotes a flexible educational design, including furniture choices that support student-focused learning and rapid reconfiguration.
