The 33,000 s.f. LEED Gold Certified, White Oak Recreation Center serves all ages and aspects of the general public - the very young, seniors, adolescents and adults. It will be used for athletics, recreation, arts and crafts, social activities and various other activities. The program is generally divided into quiet, adult areas, such as the Community Lounge and the Social Hall and noisier areas such as the Game Room, Exercise Room and the Gymnasium. The exterior and interior materials are durable, or low maintenance, as well as highly vandal resistant such as brick, stone and cement based fiberboard siding. The building is a two-story masonry structure with steel framing. A deck to serve Social Hall will be built on the east side of the building out of wood and composite wood and recycled plastic decking.
