The 30,000 s.f. East County Recreation Center provides recreation and learning spaces for wide variety of community members. The program features a full-size gym, social hall, exercise room, game room, and two large multi-purpose rooms. A full-service kitchen allows the Center to provide a lunch program for senior citizens. 

Other services directed towards seniors include: ballroom dancing (in space equipped with wood dance floor), arts and crafts, nature trails that tie to the County trail system, and outdoor learning areas. 

The need for security supervision demands clear uninterrupted sightlines and is achieved by the design of a central control desk area and office. The entry, lobby, corridors, and emergency exits are all clearly visible from the control area. Interior partitions are glass which maximize visibility to all areas.
